Allen Lee Zinkowich

Allen Lee Zinkowich, age 61, Athens, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born July 11, 1951 in Minnesota, son of Martha (Zocher) Zinkowich and the late Edward Zinkowich.
Allen worked for the Marathon County Highway Department. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed playing dart ball. In his younger years, he played fast pitch softball and baseball. He cherished time spent with his family at Eddies Bar & Grill, owned first by his father and currently by his sister and especially time spent with his granddaughter, Siarra.
Survivors include his three children, Brandon Zinkowich, Ashley Zinkowich and Jena Zinkowich, all of Athens; a granddaughter, Siarra; his mother, Martha Zinkowich, Athens; mother of his children, Laurie Punke, Athens; two sisters, Jodi (Jerry) Bloch, and Karen (Kenny) Gauerke, all of Athens; a sister-in-law, Muriel Zinkowich, Athens, and many other relatives and friends.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens. The Rev. Andrew Alberts will officiate. Friends may call Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
