Frances “Fran” Marie Haugen
Frances “Fran” Marie Haugen, age 66, of Merrill, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, in Smyer, TX.
Fran was born Nov. 10, 1946, in Madison, SD, to Lillian and George Woldt. She married Lawrence “Larry” Haugen Nov. 21, 1964.
Fran was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a great friend to everyone. Fran was a cook at many restaurants in the Merrill area. She babysat for many friends and neighbors. After retiring, she and her husband Larry moved to Smyer, TX for the winters and came home to Merrill/Tomahawk to Campers Haven on Lake Nokomis. Fran enjoyed cooking, camping with family and friends, facebook, farmville, working on her family tree and spending time at the Smyer Senior Center.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Lawrence Haugen, Merrill; daughter Debbie (Randy) Skarlupka, Winono, MN; sons, Scott (Tiffany) Haugen, Merrill, Trent (Stephanie, and her daughter Megan) Haugen, Wausau; Troy (Missy) Haugen, Merrill; sister Linda Rider, Desert Palm Springs, CA; four brothers, David Woldt, Huron, SD, Dick (Garnett) Woldt, Elk River, MN, William (Song Hui) Beaver Creek, OH, and Joey (PJ) Woldt, Crooks, SD; four grandchildren, Heath (Jess), Jessica (Kao), Kelsey and Austin; and many nieces and nephews and many friends. Fran will be greatly missed by all.
Fran is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
A small funeral service took place Friday, Jan. 25 in Smyer, TX.
