Robert ‘Bob’ Sprasky

Robert ‘Bob’ Sprasky, age 80, of Merrill, died Friday, January 11, 2013, with his son by his side at Artisan Assisted Living (formerly Walnut Grove), Merrill.  
Bob was born May 28, 1932, in Lincoln County, son of the late Thomas and Myrtle (Fuller) Sprasky.  He married Mikelene Danczyk.  They were married close to 40 years.  She preceded him in death on October 1, 2010.  Bob enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on July 2, 1952 and served during the Korean Era.  He was honorably discharged on June 4, 1956.  Bob had been employed at Merrill Manufacturing Corporation for 28 years prior to his retirement.  In his earlier years, Bob enjoyed hunting and trapping.  He also enjoyed working in his garage and caring for his fish and dogs.  Bob loved living in the North Genesee Street neighborhood, and was a great neighbor who helped everyone.  He was also an absolute people person who joked with anyone who would listen. 
Survivors include two sons, Steven (Melissa) Sprasky, of Mosinee and Kenneth Sprasky, of Wausau; several grandchildren including, Brooke and Nicolas Sprasky; and many other relatives and friends.  Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Mikelene Sprasky; his mother and step-father, Myrtle Smart and Kenneth Smart; and his father and step-mother, Thomas and Esther Sprasky.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 17, 2013, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill.  The Rev. F. Jack Shook will officiate.  Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday by the Merrill V.F.W. Post 1638 Honor Guard. Visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M., Noon, Thursday at the funeral home.
