Ruth Jane Heath

Ruth Jane Heath, 88, of Merrill, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Pine Crest Nursing Home.

She was born February 17, 1924 in Merrill to the late Dorothy Boettcher. On August 21, 1943 she married Duane Clair Heath in Gulf Port, MS. He preceded her in death July 25, 2007.
Ruth was a 1942 graduate of Merrill High School. She joined her husband, Duane, in Mississippi where they were married in 1943. Ruth worked at the Bellevue Café, Hinz’s Cork & Dyne, Eddy’s Bakery, Badger Paint and the Bean Cannery. She was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Ruth liked to do plastic canvas crafting and word search puzzles and she also enjoyed traveling and going out to eat.
Survivors include her three daughters: Patricia (Dan) Woller, Cherie (Robert) Kultgen, & Nancy (Terry) Kasper, all of Merrill; three sons: Greg (Judy) Heath, Merrill, Delbert Heath, Grand Prairie, TX, & Jeff (Sherry) Heath, Merrill; 13 grandchildren: Scott Woller, Tom Woller, Aaron Kultgen, Shelly Bruno, Lisa Viegut, Kevin Kasper, Ryan Heath, Doug Heath, Christi Miller, Stephanie Heath, Dustin Heath, Lindsay Heath and Nicholas Heath; 15 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, one sister: Carol Garcia, Merrill; and two brothers: Reinhart (Sally) Peterson, Tomahawk, and Tom (Marsha) Peterson, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her mother, her husband, Duane, two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Monday, January 7, 2013 at Waid Funeral Home. The Rev. Linda Kuhn will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM Sunday, January 6, 2013 and again from 9 AM Monday until the time of service, all at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Merrill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the charity of your choice. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
