New Lincoln/Marathon County UW-Extension Educator focuses on Agriculture Development
Daniel Marzu II begins working as the Lincoln and Marathon County Agricultural Development Educator on Aug. 1. As a UW-Extension faculty member, Marzu will work to integrate concerns and issues such as agriculture economic development; agriculture profitability and environmental quality; and to build the capacity of adults, youth, families, organizations and communities through access to university resources and applied research.
Marzu earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Education from UW-River Falls and a Master of Science Degree in Corporate Communications from UW-Whitewater. He has previous experience as an agronomist, certified crop advisor, and has held internships with UW-Extension in Horticulture and 4-H Youth Development.
This position is funded jointly by Lincoln and Marathon County government in partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Extension. Marzu's primary office location will be in the Lincoln County UW-Extension Office (Merrill) with scheduled office hours and programming in Marathon County.
Agriculture plays a vital role in our central Wisconsin economy and culture. The UW-Extension teams in both counties look forward to Dan Marzu's contributions to this role through Extension Agricultural programming that helps to sustain the area's natural resources while supporting the agricultural economic engine.
