Hundreds of volunteers needed Saturday
Saturday, Nov. 3, marks the 17th year that Merrill area residents will come together to do yard cleanup for those residents needing help. The event is sponsored by Merrill Forward Together Healthy Community Initiative and the Optimists. There are nearly 60 projects and 300 volunteers are needed to complete the work.
Check-in for workers is from 8:30 - 8:45 a.m. in the Prairie River Middle School cafeteria (enter door 14) with raking taking place from 9 until about noon. A lunch is provided for volunteers afterward at the middle school.
Adults with vehicles and students of all ages are needed to make sure projects get finished. Volunteers can sign up on site Saturday morning. Please bring gloves and rakes. Those being helped should have plastic bags available for workers. Clear plastic bags are needed if the yard waste is to be picked up by the city.
If you have questions regarding Make A Difference Day activities, please contact Debi McGregor at (715) 539-9228 or Linda Becker at (715) 873-4564. Please leave a message if no one is available to take your call.
