Fire damages town of Merrill home
On Sunday, Feb. 5, at about 7:07 p.m. the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office received a call of a possible house fire at W4436 County Rd. C in the town of Merrill.
Units from the Merrill Fire Department, town of Russell Fire Department, and the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene. Upon arrival they found fire in the rear of a single story residence. The fire appeared to have started at or near an exterior wood furnace and extended up the wall to the roof.
The fire was under control after about a half hour and units were still on the scene at 9 p.m. No injuries were reported and no one was home when the fire started. The extent of the damage is yet to be determined.
