Tourism grant application now available
Tourism grant applications for organizations sponsoring large events in the Merrill area are now available. Applications can be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce office located at 705 N. Center Ave. or can be downloaded from their website at www.merrillchamber.org.
Each year the Merrill Tourism Commission reviews applications from local organizations seeking funds to aid in their marketing and advertising of tourism related event taking place in the Merrill area. Grant assistance must be used to attract visitors from outside our local area with the purpose to promote tourism and create paid overnight stays in local lodging establishments.
Only completed applications will be reviewed by the commission. All applications must include all required attachments. Applications must be returned to the Chamber of Commerce by the April 12 deadline. Organizations selected to receive funding for the 2013-14 cycle will be notified by May 1. The commission reserves the right to deny or modify requests.
