United Christmas Spirit Appeal kicks off
The Lincoln County United Christmas Spirit Appeal is a county wide effort to coordinate the joy of giving by individuals or groups to those less fortunate. Area churches, civic groups, businesses and schools unite in an effort to serve as many children as possible. Last year, 700 children received gifts.
Request forms are available starting Nov. 1 and must be returned by Dec. 1. Request for gifts are taken on a first come first served basis, no late request will be honored. Christmas Spirit Request forms can be picked up in Merrill at St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store, 1004 E. Main St., and the Community Care Center, 401 W. Main St. Completed request forms may also be dropped off or mailed to sites. In Tomahawk request forms are available at the Lincoln Health Care Center building (Annex) and must be returned to the Merrill addresses. No request forms will be given out by the schools this year.
Tags, with children's first name, age and other pertinent information will be available at Johnson Gift & Home Dècor and some local churches, for those wishing to purchase gifts. Financial donations are appreciated and can be mailed to Lincoln County United Christmas Spirit Appeal, c/o St. Vincent DePaul Outreach, 401 W. Main St., Merrill, WI 54452.
