Tomahawk Chamber helps 'Bundle Up' Wisconsin
The Tomahawk Chamber is participating along with nearly 80 other tourism organizations to serve as a local drop off site for the Wisconsin Department of Tourism's "The Big Bundle Up," a statewide charity drive to collect new and gently used gloves, hats, scarves, coats, sweaters and other winter gear.
Residents and visitors to the Tomahawk area are encouraged to donate winter gear now until Jan. 4, 2013 at the Tomahawk Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center during normal business hours.
Last year the Tomahawk Chamber participated in the Great Lakes Mitten Campaign and collected close to 30 pairs of mittens and gloves that were donated to the families of the Friends program at the Tomahawk Elementary School.
"It was great to be part of The Great Lakes Mitten Campaign last year and we are really excited serve as a local drop off site for 'The Big Bundle Up' this year," said Tamra Anderson, Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce executive director. "I am hoping for a great response from our community this year in collecting new and gently used winter items that will be donated back to local organizations and charities right in the Tomahawk area."
A complete list of collections sites and more information about "The Big Bundle Up" can be found at www.TravelWisconsin.com.
