win state award
The Wisconsin Division for Early Childhood and the Wisconsin Early Childhood Association has named Sue Johnson and the Merrill HCE Reading Buddies as the recipient of the 2012 Outstanding Partner in Early Education and Care Award. This award was presented at the Professional Development luncheon during the WECA Conference in Waukesha on Oct. 5.
The Outstanding Partner in Early Education and Care Award is presented each year to recipients who have been nominated by their peers, in recognition of their leadership and dedication to quality education and care for all young children. Sue Johnson is the coordinator for the Merrill HCE Reading Buddies and recruits and trains volunteers to become reading buddies as well as engages in fundraising to purchase books for children in the partner program at Head Start/Early Childhood and Parkside Day Care Center.
