Model railroads on display
The Merrill Historical Society announces that four Merrill model railroads will be on display to the public from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13. The Merrill Area Youth Railroad (MAYRR) will display its modular model railroad at the Prairie River Middle School (PRMS) cafeteria. MAYRR is being constructed by PRMS and Merrill High School students. Three home model railroads will also be open to visitors. Two of these have been subjects of feature articles in the national model railroading magazines in 2011-2012.
Tickets, with site information, are $5 per person; youth under 12 free (must be accompanied by a responsible adult). They may be purchased at the Merrill Historical Society, 100 E. Third St., from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, or at the MAYRR layout side, PRMS Door #14, Saturday, Oct. 13, from 12:30-2:30 p.m.
