Merrill Area Veterans Day Schedule
Merrill area veterans organizations will be involved in the following school and community Veterans Day programs:
•Nov. 5: Jefferson School, 9 a.m.
•Nov. 8: Washington School, 10 a.m.
•Nov. 8: Kate Goodrich School, 2 p.m.
•Nov. 9: Prairie River MS, 8:30 a.m.
•Nov. 9: Merrill HS, 1:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. (approximate).
•Nov. 9: River Valley Bank, 3:30 p.m. - Meet at the bank after the final MHS program with flags, post colors, rifles and bugle for the bank's ceremony honoring veterans; all veterans organizations are invited.
•Nov. 11: Cenotaph Ceremony, 11 a.m. - Mayor Bill Bialecki and VFW Post Commander Michele Rathke will provide brief remarks. Trinity students will sing and Taps will be played by Trinity student.
•Nov. 14: St. Francis School, 8 a.m. - Several VFW members will meet at 7:50 a.m. to assist students with raising the school flag; Other veterans organizations are welcome to participate.
•Nov. 14: St. John Lutheran School @ 1:30 p.m. - Lunch for all veterans will be served from 12 noon to 1 p.m. If you plan to eat lunch, notify the school at (715) 536-7264.
