The UW Extension Lincoln County and Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center organizations will be offering the Strong Women- Healthy Hearts Program, a 12-week nutrition and exercise program for women age 40 and over. One class series will be held on Monday and Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and the other series will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. All classes will be held at the Lincoln County Service Center - Lower Level, 801 N. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States. The team at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts who brought strength-training programs to midlife and older women throughout Pennsylvania has developed an exercise and nutrition program designed to help women improve their heart health. The StrongWomen - Healthy Hearts Program is a fun, hands-on way to make positive changes to help you eat better, move more, and improve your general health and well-being.
StrongWomen - Healthy Hearts is a 12-week, twice-weekly program, being offered in your community. During these hour-long classes you will complete a 20 minute cardiovascular workout and also learn about heart healthy eating patterns and weight control techniques.
Registration forms are available by calling (715) 539-1072.
