Grand prize winner chosen in library contest
From 383 entries, Alvina Hornischer of Merrill has been chosen as the grand prize winner of T.B. Scott Library’s Adult Winter Read-In Program.
Alvina won a prize basket valued at more than $110 with prizes donated by Hardee’s, Hugo’s Pizza, Johnson Gifts and Home Décor, Hometown Pharmacy, Ye Olde Sweet Shoppe, Family Chiropractic Clinic, Les & Jim’s Lincoln Lanes, Culver’s, Cost Cutters, and the Friends of T.B. Scott Library.
One hundred sixteen readers participated by submitting entry forms for each five books they read or listened to. A total of 1,915 read or listened-to books were recorded. Forty-two winners won prizes contributed by contest donors.
Twenty-one participants were new to the library’s adult reading contests.
“Our adult reading programs are designed to encourage reading as well as reward those who read and use the library, so it’s always great to see new readers joining in,” noted Assistant Director Don Litzer, Adult Winter Read-In coordinator.
Start reading or listening to your favorite books now to get a head start on the next adult reading contest, the 2013 Lincoln County Reads Adult Summer Program, which begins after Memorial Day. Learn about the library at www.tbscottlibrary.org or at “T.B. Scott Free Library” on Facebook.
