Registrations now open for Merrill Community Weight Race
Registrations are now being accepted for the Merrill Community Weight Race, sponsored by Ministry Health Care and Riverside Athletic Club.
The Merrill Community Weight Race is a competition that challenges individuals and groups of participants to lose weight and create a healthier lifestyle. Participation is free and all participants will receive a t-shirt, Community Weight Race Calendar, Riverside Athletic Club Punch Card and will be eligible for numerous prize drawings. A bi-monthly newsletter for participants will provide additional support and weight loss tips.
The only requirement of the competition is to attend a monthly educational program and weigh in to learn the most current information on weight loss success.
This year’s Merrill Community Weight Race will kick-off with an informational program and weigh-in on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at Riverside Athletic Club in Merrill.
Team weigh-ins will be conducted from 5:30-6:30 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., Robert Sedlacek, M.D., of Ministry Medical Group in Merrill and Kari Mizgalski, RD, CD, Registered Dietitian, Ministry Health Care will help launch the Community Weight Race with “Starting the Race on the Right Foot.” The program will offer practical tips for starting a weight loss program along with label reading and nutrition tips.
