Win with ‘Words To Stay Warm By’ at library

Dec. 19, 2012 | 0 comments

“Words To Stay Warm By” is the theme for the 2013 Winter Read In for Adults at T.B. Scott Library, which you can enter beginning Jan. 2.
The Winter Read In for Adults, now in its 13th year, offers adults (age 18 and up) an opportunity to win prizes for reading. More than 125 readers participated in last year’s Winter Read-In, and 26 of them won prizes with a total value of nearly $350.
This year, prizes will include Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce gift certificates (donated by the Friends of T.B. Scott Library), and prizes and coupons donated by Hardee’s Restaurant, Hugo’s Pizza, Johnson Gifts & Home Décor, Culver’s Restaurant, Ye Olde Sweet Shoppe, Family Chiropractic Clinic, Merrill Hometown Pharmacy, and Cost Cutters.
Entering is easy. Pick up entry forms at the library. On each entry form, write down the titles of five books you’ve read. Drop completed forms into an entry box at the library to enter the contest.
New this year is the option to enter the Winter Read-In online. Go to the library’s Facebook page (T.B. Scott Free Library) and click on “Events” to get to the Winter Read In page. Post your name and the book titles and authors you’ve read, and you’re entered.
You’re welcome to read fiction or non-fiction. You can count books that you’ve read in print, listened to, or read with an e-book reader. You may submit up to 50 five-book entries in the contest.
Regular prize winners will be drawn on Jan. 25, Feb. 8, and Feb. 22. Each reader may win once in the regular drawings. Winners will be notified by phone.
In addition, all entries will be eligible for the March 9 grand prize drawing.
Prize winners will be announced on WJMT-AM 730 The Patriot on prize drawing days, during the “Our Town” program at 8:45 a.m. The grand prize will be drawn live on the March 9 Our Town program.
If you have other questions about the Winter Read In, or if you’re looking for new ideas on what to read, visit the library, call at 536-7191, or visit the library’s website at www.tbscottlibrary.org.
