The seven pounds of candy they brought in was worth $7 to the two. The 114 pounds of candy bought back in Merrill, along with the 157 pounds from the other three Quirt locations, will be sent to troops overseas thanks to a cash donation from the Edgar VFW post.

The employees of Waves got into the holiday spirit a little early, dressing up to give their customers a treat on Friday. Several of the stylists also raised money for the United Way during the day.

The Student Council at Washington Elementary School organized a penny carnival for students last week to celebrate Halloween. The carnival coincided with fun activities throughout the building. All the change students brought for the penny carnival was donated to UNICEF.
