Dance Team Makes History

For the first time in school history, the MHS Dance Team competed in the State Regional Dance Competition this past weekend. The team placed 2nd in the High Kick - Division 1, qualifying for this weekend’s State Finals Competition at UW LaCrosse - also a school first. The girls also competed in Hip Hop - Division 1, placing fourth and narrowly missing out on a state bid.
Team members are: Kayla Alft, Madison Baumgart, Haley Beyer, Alissa Brewer, Mckenzie Broeking, Ally Gustke, Larissa Jahnke, Miranda Jahnke, Molly Roman, Ashley Plisch, Katie Purmal, Ciara Steffenhagen, Mckinze Wendt, Jimmi Weyneth and Ali Zimmerman. The coaching staff includes Dorinda Gustke, Erin Schwartzman, Sheila Mueller and Sarah Burkardt. Managers are Mariah Mueller, Sierra Smith and Katelyn Teeples.
The MHS Dance Team will be performing at home on Friday, Feb. 15, at the boys basketball JV and varsity games. This will also be the Dance Team’s Grade School Dance Camp “Dancing in the Dark,” a big fundraiser the team holds.
