MHS Fall Play
Merrill High School will present its fall play, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Colosseum,” Nov. 1, 2 & 3 at 7 p.m. each night in the MHS auditorium.
“A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Colosseum” is set in Ancient Rome. A young cowherder from the mountains of Gallia Alpina decides to follow his dream (and the “beautiful” emperor’s daughter) to Rome and become a comedian. When Simplcuss reaches Rome, tired and hungry, he enters the villa of General Sillius where he is mistaken for the famed gladiator Terribulus. Amongst deadly snakes, poisoned scrolls, and a villainous Senator, Simplcuss finds himself facing the fearsome Dominatia Violencia in the Coliseum’s arena where he only has one weapon to same himself and the Emperor - his jokes!
Tickets are available at the high school in the cashiers office and at the door. Tickets are $4 for students/seniors and $6 for adults.
