Financial aid night

On Wednesday, Jan. 9, 6–7 p.m., MHS will offer Financial Aid Night in the LGI (2nd floor of the high school). Heather Eslinger of Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corp. will explain how to apply for financial aid using the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA should be submitted as soon as possible after Jan. 1. Parents and seniors must have their 2012 W-2 statement(s) from employers to accurately complete the FAFSA. As most employers don’t provide W-2s until the end of January, you may have to wait until then to add the finishing touches to the FAFSA. Every student should submit the FAFSA – even if you’re not eligible for grants, chances are you will qualify for loans.
