Middle East Forum

A first-ever community forum on The Middle East will be held on Sunday, July 29, from noon until 4 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 107 N. State St., Merrill. Guest speaker will be Mr. Sami Rasouli, an Iraqi American who sold his Minneapolis restaurant in 2004 and went back to his native country of Iraq to found the Muslim Peacemakers Team and the Iraqi Reconciliation Project. His presentation will begin at 1 p.m. in the church basement, following a sampling of Middle Eastern food, beginning at noon. Also on hand will be other guests with knowledge of Middle Eastern culture and current affairs. Audience members will have an opportunity to listen and ask questions. Everyone is welcome.
