Summer Block Party

Friday July 15, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Merrill downtown businesses are blocking off East Main street (between Poplar & Court Street) for their First Annual “Summer Block Party.” The downtown businesses offer a day filled with free events, music, food, and fun in the sun. Each business will offer different specials and promotions through-out the day. The block party will kick off at 10 a.m. featuring the Good Times Trio followed by the fabulous sounds of Mark Wayne and his steel guitar. Following Mark will be a variety of entertainment and prizes which include: St. Vincent DePauls fashion show; Idol Jingle Contest (sponsored by the Collins Agency), the winner receives a Wisconsin Dells family package. A Lincoln Co. Fair package will be given away including 4 wrist bands, 4 meal tickets, a parking pass, and 4 music grandstand passes (sponsored by the Lincoln Co. Fair Board. the fair starts July 20). A fire truck will be on display for children to view during the day. Thelma’s will hold an afternoon fashion show. Zumba demonstrations (sponsored by Curves) will be offered. Free hot dogs and soda will be served during the day. John the Juggler, free face painting, crazy clowns and more will be offered. Broken Arrow band will perform in the morning, and Brad Emmanuel will perform in the evening starting at 8 p.m.
