The National World War II Memorial in Washington DC stands as a testament to the tens of millions of Americans who contributed to the war effort, but did you know it took almost 15 years from concept to creation? Come learn more about this marvelous and moving tribute to the Greatest Generation of Americans on Friday, May 13. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. with the presentation following at 9:15 a.m. at the Merrill Area Community Enrichment Center. During this interactive presentation, we will talk about American culture during and after the war, the architectural symbolism of the memorial itself, and help you learn about submitting names into the memorial’s registry for all those involved in the war effort abroad or at home.
