Dorgan Cancer Benefit

A family friendly afternoon will be offered on Jan. 29 at Victory Lane in Merrill to benefit Becki Dorgan, a Merrill woman battling a rare form of cancer. The benefit will held be from 1-5 p.m. Tickets to the event are $10 per adult. Included with ticket purchase is admission to the benefit along with food, select drinks and money raffle. Entertainment will be provided by High Volume Entertainment DJ service. During the event there will be many opportunities for mini-raffles with great prizes donated by some local businesses. All proceeds will go to Becki Dorgan. Becki is a lifelong Merrill resident, and a single mom of four. This past September a mass was found in her chest wall. The mass was removed by an invasive surgery. After months of testing, the mass was determined to be synovial sarcoma, a rare soft-tissue cancer. Becki works at Merrill Distributing. While she struggles through her treatments of chemotherapy and radiation, she is unable to work very much. With no other financial support, this benefit is a chance to help Becki try to keep up with everyday living expenses of her and her children.
