The Lincoln County United Christmas Appeal for 2009 is underway. The Society of St. Vincent DePaul will again be coordinating this program in conjunction with Johnson’s Gifts & Home De’cor, Merrill Fire Department, United Way, area churches, businesses, service organizations and individuals.

This program is for children, ages birth to 18, who would not have any gifts at Christmas if not for the generosity of the citizens of Lincoln County. The need is anticipated to exceed last year’s request of over 550 names and gifts distributed. Request forms can be obtained at St. Vincent Thrift Store or the Community Care Center. No request will be taken over the phone and requests are on a first come first served basis with the deadline to submit requests of Dec. 1.

This year the Christmas tags, for the general public, can be obtained from Johnson’s Gifts & Home De’cor or possibly from your local church. Financial donations are appreciated and can be mailed to Lincoln County Christmas Spirit Appeal, c/o St. Vincent DePaul Outreach, 401 W Main Street, Merrill, WI 54452.
