Local family offers dogsled tours, rides

Nov. 23, 2011 | 0 comments

Tomahawk resident Michelle Hogan and her son, Liam, are offering dogsled rides and tours from their farm in Tomahawk. Options include a 1-hour, 10-mile ride or a half or full day adventure where you can learn how to mush your own team.

The Hogan's Alaskan huskies are all friendly and energetic offering visitors a rare opportunity to participate in this fun and exciting sport.

Although new to the area, the Hogans are experienced mushers from Vermont and are eager to not only share their sport but take part in some of the Midwest's finest dogsled competitions, including the Tahquamenon Country Sled Dog Race in Newberry, MI, the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon in Duluth, MN and the Midnight Run in Marquette, MI.

Rides and tours are offered between December and March, snow permitting, and custom adventures are always available. Shorter rides are available for children and those who want to include dogsledding in other events.

Call or email for more information.
