The Jefferson School gymnasium was hopping before Easter with its annual Jump Rope For Heart event. “Our final total isn’t in yet, but we are over $5,300, $800 more than last year,” coordinator Karla Tennet said. “I’m especially pleased by the number of students who chose to collect pledges this year. Last year, 48% of our students brought in pledge money. This year that number rose to 65% of the students and the pledges are still coming in! As far as the kids’ reaction, their faces say it all. They had a blast! At Jefferson our vision statement is: ‘Jefferson is a safe, healthy place where everybody belongs and where we choose to be successful life-long learners at school, at home, and in the community.’ Taking part in Jump Rope for Heart is the perfect opportunity for us to reach out and help others.”
