5210 is coming to a doctor’s office near you

September is Fruit and Vegetable Month and the Lincoln County Nutrition Coalition would like to spread the word! During the month of September, family practice clinics around Lincoln County will have 5210 displays that show ways to increase the number of fruits and vegetables you eat each day. 5210 is a national program that has been shown to help reduce obesity among children and stands for eating 5 fruits and vegetables, having less than 2 hours of recreational screen time, being physically active for at least 1 hour, and drinking 0 sugary beverages each day.

“Healthy eating is one of the most important ways that we can improve our health,” states Kristi Krombholz, Public Health Nurse with Lincoln County Health Department and head of the Nutrition Coalition. The displays will contain information on various ways that you and your children can improve eating and physical activity habits. There will also be raffles for prizes at each of the displays that include books on healthier home cooking options, chamber bucks, and more.
