The Merrill Police Department announces the availability of 2014 MPD K9 Unit challenge coins. Coinciding with the inception of Merrill PD’s very first K9 unit, these are the very first challenge coins ever minted for the Merrill PD. Minted by Medalcraft Mint of Green Bay, these coins depict artwork and imagery specific to the City of Merrill and the Merrill PD. You will notice that the coins include imagery of the department’s patch, badge, mission statement, and even the German shepherd breed of the first K9. Additionally, the coin is dated with the year of issuance as the department intends on offering an annual coin in support of the K9 program.
Challenge coins will be given for individual donations of $20 or more. All proceeds will be used to support the Merrill PD K9 program. The Merrill PD K9 program is solely funded through donations and community support.
Donations can be made at the MPD front desk during normal business hours. More donation locations and methods may be added at a later time.
