Diane Gulke, age 58, of Merrill, died on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Merrill. She was born on October 29, 1959 to the late Donald and Marion (Duginski) Meyer in Merrill. Diane attended and graduated from Merrill High School.
Diane met Allan Gulke, and the two exchanged wedding vows on July 23, 1983 in Merrill. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2012.
Diane was a homemaker and mother for most of her adult life. She worked various jobs throughout her life, primarily cleaning local businesses and homes. Diane adored her dogs, and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds at her feeders while enjoying a hot cup of coffee. She also had a passion for flowers and had beautiful flower gardens that included her favorite flower, the sunflower. Diane was a caring and giving person that thought of others before herself. She was also a great mother. Diane was a member at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Merrill. She will be greatly missed by all who were touched by her love and kindness.
Diane is survived by her two sons: Bradley and Kyle Gulke, both from Merrill, brothers: David (Joy) Meyer, Daniel (Jean) Meyer and Douglas (Renee) Meyer, all of Merrill, sisters: Dona (Scott) Beyer, Dena (Ray) Harris and Darlene “Tarry” Meyer, all of Merrill and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother: Ronald Meyer.
The Memorial Service for Diane will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 3pm at Waid Funeral Home. Rev. William Hohman will officiate. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 1pm, and continue until the time of the service, also at the funeral home.
The family wishes to thank all of the staff at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill for their care, love and support shown to Diane and her family over the past 11 years, along with her close friend: Denise Maurisak.
