In April, Bailey Iwen placed first in the VFW Auxiliary Patriotic Art contest, at the local level. This is a contest supported by the Auxiliary to VFW Post 1638 in Merrill. Bailey’s artwork, titled “Waiting,” was sent to be judged at the state level.
At the VFW and VFW Auxiliary State Convention held in Green Bay on June 14, Bailey was recognized as the third place winner in the State of Wisconsin. She was given a certificate and a monetary award. Attending the presentation with Bailey were her parents and grandmother.
