On Saturday and Sunday, the best track and field athletes from around Wisconsin met for the State meet at the University of La Crosse. Jared Ollhoff represented Merrill, being their only state qualifier, participating in the triple jump.

Ollhoff had a pretty good showing at the state tournament, placing eighth in the triple jump with a jump of 44-02.00. Ollhoff’s distance was very close to placing seventh, being short by just 00-02.75. The winner of the triple jump was James Carter of Oak Creek with a jump of 49-02.00, blowing out the competition with no one within three feet of his jump.
Ollhoff ends his high school track career holding the Merrill High School record in triple jump, as well as a couple of Otto Bacher meet records.
