Merrill Police reports
April 16
8:54 a.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Probation & Parole.
3:22 p.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Probation & Parole.
4:54 p.m.- An officer investigated a crash on Taylor Street at Pier Street. A vehicle was stopped at the stop sign and the vehicle behind was unable to stop due to the icy roadway and rear-ended the other vehicle. A crash report was completed.
April 17
12:29 a.m.- An officer observed two youths running across the road. One juvenile continued running and one stopped upon seeing the officer. The juvenile who continued on was identified and later cited for violation of juvenile curfew, the other juvenile was warned and released to her mother.
10:56 a.m.- A female was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
2:10 p.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
10:26 p.m.- A male came to the PD to report unauthorized charges on his debit card. Investigation is ongoing.
April 19
12:13 a.m.- Officers were dispatched to a disturbance at a residence. During the course of the investigation, a juvenile was found to have been consuming alcohol. He will be cited for underage drinking.
8:27 a.m.- Officers were at a residence in regards to a different complaint when a male subject who had an active warrant for his arrest was located. He was taken into custody on the warrant and transported to the jail. Officers were also granted permission to search the residence and a small bag which contained methamphetamine was located. Charges will be referred to the District Attorney for possession of methamphetamine.
3:52 p.m.- An officer on patrol observed two males walking, one of which had an active warrant for his arrest. Officers were eventually able to make contact with the males and the male with the warrant was taken into custody. Contact was made with the Canadian National Railroad Police and they will be charging the two males with trespassing on railroad property.
4:14 p.m.- Officers were requested by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Probation and Parole to respond to their office and take a male subject into custody on a probation hold. The male subject was taken into custody and taken to the jail.
A female subject had been contacted by officers after her wallet had been turned into the Police Department after being found in the city. When the female came to get her wallet, she found that her debit card was missing. It was determined that the card had just been utilized at a business in town. Information and suspects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
