Merrill Police reports

April 9
3:50 p.m.- An officer took a complaint of a stolen cell phone. The reporting party advised their cell phone had been taken from their unlocked vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.

April 10
1:01 p.m.- An officer was flagged down by a male party who stated their roommate was at the residence and was heavily intoxicated and they wanted him removed. Officers made contact with the male party who was found to be on probation. Contact was made with probation and parole and they placed a hold. The male was arrested for a probation violation.
9:22 p.m.- Officers responded to a verbal domestic. Officers made contact with a male and female who were having a verbal argument. All parties were spoken to and were advised to stay separated for the evening and if officers returned, one or both would likely be arrested for disorderly conduct.

April 11
8:40 a.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Probation & Parole.
11:20 a.m.- A female was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Probation & Parole.
8:27 p.m.- A male came to the PD to turn himself in on several outstanding warrants through various agencies. He was arrested for the warrants.

April 12
1:12 a.m.- A Wausau PD officer requested assistance in locating a vehicle involved in a hit and run crash in their city. The officer located the suspect vehicle at a residence however nobody would answer the door. Photographs were taken of the suspect vehicle and sent to Wausau PD for their investigation.
9:15 a.m.- A female was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Probation & Parole.
12:16 p.m.- A caller reported a male was becoming violent in his residence and had punched a hole in a wall. The male was located a short distance away and was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.
2:14 p.m.- A gas station reported a male had stolen some gasoline. The previous evening the man can be observed on surveillance video filling a gas can and then quickly walking out of the parking lot. The investigation is ongoing.
3:20 p.m.- A caller reported a fraud attempt. The caller stated he received a phone call from someone claiming to be with the IRS and instructed him to take out several thousand dollars in $100 bills and meet with the IRS agent and if he did not an arrest warrant would be issued for him. The man recognized the call as fraudulent and is not out any money.
4:15 p.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Probation & Parole.
4:47 p.m.- A caller reported a door was ajar at a residence and the dog at the residence was outside barking. The responding officer arrived and was chased off the property by the dog. Contact was made with the owner who came to secure the door and dog. He will be cited for animal at large as he has been warned and cited in the past for the same violation.
6:35 p.m.- An officer stopped a vehicle after receiving information a passenger inside had a warrant for his arrest. The man was indeed inside and arrested for the warrant.
