The Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce Spotlight on Business for the month of March is Frokjer & Hersil S.C. Law Firm located at 200 N. Center Ave. in Merrill.
Frokjer & Hersil was formerly known as Ament, Wulf & Frokjer until Bill Wulf retired in 2016. Bill had practiced law since 1971 and joined the firm in 1983 until his retirement.
The firm was founded by Jacob Ament (1923-2005) who commenced practicing law in Merrill in 1949.
Frokjer & Hersil is now made up of three attorneys. Randy Frokjer started practicing law in 1988. He is listed as a Who’s Who in American Law; and Leading Wisconsin Attorney by America’s Most Respected Legal Counsel (fewer than 6% licensed to practice in Wisconsin have been selected by their peers for this honor). He played Badger football and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah. Randy has served as President for the Lincoln County Bar Association and is a certified trial attorney. He also works with students and has been active with Junior Achievement.
Gerald Hersil received his Juris Doctorate from UW-Madison Law School and started practicing in Merrill in 2001. His primary practice is Family Law including divorce, custody, child support and adoption. He also practices criminal defense, civil litigation and foreclosure. Active in the community, Gerald is very involved in Boy Scouts and started the Haunted Sawmill to help defray costs of scouting, summer camps and high adventure outings for Merrill scouts. He has been recognized for his support/advocacy on behalf of his clients by HAVEN and is currently on the Chamber’s Board of Directors.
Andrew Polzin is a Rhinelander native who earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Dakota in 2014. He is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives, Wisconsin Association of Worker’s Compensation Attorney’s, and is currently the President of the Lincoln County Bar Association. His concentration includes Worker’s Comp, Social Security Disability, Estate Planning and Real Estate. He also works with kids and is part of the comic group “Hot Dog.”
