Derrick Fravert

Derrick Fravert, age 36, of St. Paul, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 2, 2018 at his residence in St. Paul, MN.  Derrick is the son of Frederic and Mary Fravert, and he was born on August 12, 1981 in Marshfield, WI.  His parents survive.  Derrick and his family moved to Merrill in 1987.

Derrick attended and graduated from Merrill High School with the Class of 2000. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp.  After being in the service, he had traveled to many places and lived in various locations, including San Diego, CA, Phoenix, AZ and St. Paul, MN.  He worked for Restaurant Technologies Inc. for 11 years in various positions as their business manager, service manager and general manager.  Derrick was an extremely brilliant person and decided to go back to school at Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, MN to earn his degree as an IT Developer.  Derrick is remembered as a very friendly and outgoing person that had numerous friends.  He was always curious and enjoyed learning about new and exciting things, his mind was always working.  Derrick also loved animals, enjoyed motorcycling and being in the outdoors.  Derrick looked forward to going fishing with his dad and grandfather every chance he could.  He always was a Packers, Brewers and Badgers fan.  Derrick will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.  He was likable, thoughtful and warm hearted with everyone.

Derrick is survived by his parents: Frederic and Mary Fravert of Merrill, brother: Quentin (Kelly) Fravert of Appleton, WI, with their sons: Elijah and Noah (who adored Derrick), sister: Katrina (Scott) Terrance of Green Bay, WI, grandfather: Joe (Margaret) Lato of Thorp, WI, girlfriend: Tamara Collins of St. Paul, MN and many aunts and uncles.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Arthur and Kathryn Fravert and his maternal grandmother: Agnes Lato.

A Memorial Service for Derrick will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11am at Bible Presbyterian Church in Merrill. Pastor Andy Perry will officiate.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at the church, from 9:30am, until the time of the service.  Inurnment will take place at a later date.  Military honors will be performed by the VFW Post #1638 and will take place at the church, immediately following the service.
