A 33-year-old Gleason man who is an inmate of the Lincoln County Jail will be referred to the Lincoln County District Attorney on a felony charge of battery after he struck a correctional officer Friday morning. The corrections officer was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he was treated and released.

A 35-year-old Minnesota man was taken into custody Friday afternoon after a 911 call reported a reckless driver on USH 51 north of Merrill. Deputies were able stop the vehicle and arrested the driver for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated first offense.

A 22-year-old Harshaw man was arrested Friday evening after a traffic stop in the Town of Harrison. The man was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for speeding on State Rd. 17. When a check was done it was found he was wanted by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for violating the terms of his probation.

A 54-year-old Manitowoc man was injured Saturday afternoon after striking a tree with his snowmobile in the Town of Bradley. The man was traveling on a trail when he lost control and struck the tree. The man was transported by private auto to Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol was not a factor.

A 32-year-old Merrill man was arrested Saturday evening on a warrant. Deputies went to the man’s home on in the Town of Merrill and arrested him on a warrant through Lincoln County Court for failing to pay child support.

A 35-year-old Merrill man was arrested Saturday evening on a warrant charge. Deputies found the man at a home in the Town of Pine River and arrested him for failing to pay child support.

A 21-year-old Kronenwetter man was cited Sunday morning after deputies investigated a crash on Bear Trail Road in the Town of Harrison at 6 a.m. He will be cited for two hit and run incidents. A 21-year-old Schofield man was also arrested on a warrant through the Oneida County Sheriff for contempt of court.

A 30-year-old Gleason man was arrested on a criminal charge of obstructing Sunday evening. The man was involved in a crash on Feb. 6 and the deputy later learned that he had lied to him as to who was driving the vehicle.

Deputies investigated 28 traffic crashes/slide offs during the two snow events last week. No injuries were reported.

Five car deer crashes were reported this past week.
