MHS Senior Zach Mootz became one of just a few basketball players in Bluejay history to cross the 1,000 point barrier on Tuesday, Feb. 13 versus D.C Everest, capping off a successful 4-year varsity career of which he was twice named Wisconsin Valley All-Conference.
Aside from basketball, Zach was a three-year member of the Bluejay football team at the Quarterback position. He has been active in the local Big Brothers Big Sisters program for the last two years as well an MHS Link Crew member. Zach is also very active with St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church as a reader and usher.
Son of Julie and Jim Mootz of Merrill, Zach currently maintains a 3.4 GPA.
Following graduation this spring, Zach will either attend UW-Eau Claire or Stevens Point, where he plans to play basketball and major in Biology.
