WVLHS students perform at All Star Band and Choir Ensembles

On Saturday, Jan. 20, four Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School students had the opportunity to participate in the Central WI Conference All Star Band and Choir Ensembles in Shiocton.

Students from 21 schools rehearsed under the direction of Dr. Phillip Swan from Lawrence University and Dr. Devin Otto from UW-Oshkosh.

After a full day of rehearsal, a concert was held at Shiocton High School featuring both ensembles. The band performed “March of the Belgian Parachutists,” by Pierre Leemans, arranged by Bourgeois; “Ancient Flower,” by Yukiko Nishmura; “Kentucky 1800,” by Clare Grundman; and “Three Phrases from Yugoslav Folk Songs,” by Daniel Bukvich. The choir performed “All Ye Who Music Love,” by B. Donato, arranged by Norman Greyson; “If Music be the Food of Love,” by David Dickau; “Tshotsholoza,” by James L. Ames; “Tell My Father,” by Andrea Ramsey; “Truth,” by Andrea Ramsey, and “Turn the World Around,” by Larry Farrow.
