Gail Diver passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday, January 5, 2018 in San Diego, CA. She was 97 years old.
Gail Frances Cotey was born in Merrill, Wisconsin on March 9, 1920 to the late Percy T. and Ella Z. Cotey. She married Guy Sidney Diver, of Merrill, Wisconsin on July 19, 1941 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. The couple moved several times in the northwest and settled back in Klamath Falls in 1958, raising their five children. Gail retired as a department manager for JC Penney in 1986 after 20 years with the company. In 1989, Gail and Guy moved to San Diego, California to enjoy retirement in the sunshine. Gail enjoyed music, reading, and baking for friends and family.
Gail is preceded in death by her parents and her husband; one brother, Dean Patrick Cotey; and three sisters, Nina Krueger, Helen Harr and Evelyn Watchl. She is survived by two daughters, Susan (Don) Amacher, Eugene, OR and Jane (Tim) McCarthy, Poway, CA; three sons, Guy T. (Sandy) Diver, Klamath Falls, OR, John D. Diver, Klamath Falls, OR and Donald W. Diver, San Diego, CA; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
No funeral services were held per her request. A cremation was held in San Diego, CA and her ashes will be brought to Oregon to be with those of her late husband.
