Merrill man held on $50,000 cash bond in wake of heroin bust

As a result of a search warrant, drug and subsequent cash seizure yesterday at a Scott Street residence; 23-year old Jason M. Sly was taken into custody.
Sly made his initial appearance earlier this afternoon in Lincoln County Circuit Court, facing Felony charges of Possession of Heroin with Intent to Deliver, Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place and a Misdemeanor charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. As a result, Sly was ordered to remain in the custody of the Lincoln County Jail on $50,000 cash bond.
According to information released by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office this morning, authorities from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Merrill Police Department executed a search warrant at Sly’s residence Tuesday night; reportedly yielding $3,000 in cash and 3 ounces of Heroin, worth an estimated $28,000 street value.
This case is the result of an ongoing joint investigation between drug officers with the Merrill Police Department and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
Sly’s next court activity is set for a January 16 scheduling conference.

According to court records, Sly has no previous drug convictions but does have multiple Felony Burglary and Misdemeanor Theft convictions in Marathon County dating back to 2013.
