Merrill Police reports

December 15
11:32 a.m.- A caller reported a crash between a vehicle and utility pole. The driver had been backing up striking the pole. A crash report will be completed.
11:33 a.m.- A caller reported a crash in a parking lot of a restaurant. A vehicle had been in line at the drive-through and another vehicle was backing in the lot striking the vehicle. A crash report was completed.
12:10 p.m.- A caller reported a female had received mail from her estranged ex-boyfriend in violation of an open bond. The ex-boyfriend was found to be in federal custody and further investigation will be completed.
3:06 p.m.- A crash was reported on Elm Street at E. 7th Street. This is an uncontrolled intersection and both vehicles entered the intersection at the same time causing the collision. One of the vehicles had also struck a utility pole after the initial impact. A crash report was completed.
7:32 p.m.- A male called to report he had a warrant through the Department of Corrections and wished to turn himself in. Contact was made with the man and the warrant confirmed. He was arrested for the warrant.

December 16
10:42 a.m.- A caller reported the theft of a package delivered to her residence. She had not received her package as expected and contacted the post office and found it had been delivered on 12-12-17 and left on her porch. Unknown suspect(s) at this time.

December 17
1:14 a.m.- A caller reported a domestic disturbance at an apartment. Upon arrival officers observed numerous items thrown into the hallway in front of the apartment and could hear a male yelling at a female. The male claimed the two had a verbal altercation. The female reported the male had held her down on two occasions placing his hand around her neck inhibiting her breathing. Officers observed marking on her neck consistent with her claim. The male had also reportedly thrown numerous items around inside the apartment. The man was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and strangulation/suffocation.
10:19 a.m.- A crash was reported on E. Main Street at Sales Street. A driver had been stopped at the stop sign on Sales Street. The second driver was westbound on E. Main Street. The driver on Sales Street pulled onto E. Main Street striking the westbound vehicle. The offending driver was cited for failure to yield right of way from a stop sign. A crash report was completed.
9:13 p.m.- A caller reported a male was at a residence and he had a warrant for his arrest. Contact was made at the residence and the man was arrested for the warrant through Lincoln County.
