Merrill Police reports

December 1
3:05 a.m.- Officers received information that a male was at a residence and was wanted by Marathon County for armed burglary as well as being possibly involved in a separate armed burglary. Officers observed the male in the residence. The tenant allowed officers to check the apartment and the suspect was located attempting to hide under a couch. He was arrested for his warrant.
9:23 a.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Probation & Parole.

December 2
3:09 a.m.- A caller requested a welfare check on her sister after the sister told her she had been in an argument with her boyfriend and she may need the police. The sister was unable to contact her. Upon arrival officers observed the front door broken down and could hear a male yelling and swearing inside. Contact was made with the couple. It was found the male had broken down the front door, a bedroom door and had punched a hole in a wall. He was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

December 3
12:28 p.m.- A caller reported finding several pieces of mail scattered on Taylor Street. The mail was found to have been undelivered by the postal service and contact was made with the senders. It was found all had placed their mail in the receptacle by the post office and reported the receptacle overflowing. It is believed someone was able to remove several pieces of mail and was likely opening cards looking for money. Some cash had been stolen from several cards.
