The administration staff at the Sheriff’s Office invites you to stop by for trick or treating. They will be handing out treats on Halloween from 3-5 p.m. Use the glass door on the far south west corner of the safety building.

An 18-year-old Merrill man was arrested Monday evening on a battery charge. Deputies went to a business on County Rd. W after a victim reported he was struck during an argument with a co-worker.

A 28-year-old Tomahawk man was injured after a vehicle rollover Wednesday evening in the Town of Rock Falls. The crash happened on County Rd. J at 5 p.m. The driver stated he had swerved to miss a bear. The man refused medical transport from the scene.

Fire units from the Town of Russell Fire Department along with the DNR and a deputy responded to a grass fire Thursday afternoon in the Town of Birch. The fire was reported on County R.d K at Donavan Drive at 3:10 p.m.

A 33-year-old Tomahawk man was arrested Thursday afternoon on a warrant charge. A deputy stopped the vehicle the man was operating on County Rd. S just after 4 p.m. for speeding. A check showed the man was wanted through the Merrill municipal court for failing to pay a fine.

Three people were injured after a two vehicle crash on Thursday evening in the Town of Wilson. At 7:33 p.m. a cell 911 call reported crash on US Hwy. 8 at Honey Road. A vehicle being driven by a 71-year-old Tomahawk man made a u-turn on the highway and struck an east bound vehicle being operated by 19-year-old Prentice man. The Tomahawk man and two occupants were injured in the crash. They were treated and released for their injuries at Ascension Sacred Heart. The Tomahawk man was cited for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated first offense and driving left of center.

A 33-year-old Gleason man was arrested Saturday morning in the Town of Russell. The man was taken into custody on two warrants through Lincoln County and a warrant through Oneida County. The man will also be charged with a new count of bail jumping for violating the conditions of a no contact.

Two people were arrested after deputies responded to a report of a fight in the Town of Bradley Sunday morning. A 48-year-old Tomahawk man was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct while a 44-year-old Tomahawk woman was arrested for disorderly conduct and a felony charge of aggravated battery.

Tomahawk Firefighters along with a deputy responded to the Town of Somo early Sunday morning for a report of a home that was struck by lightning. The home owner on Meyer Road phoned 911 at 12:55 a.m. and reported the incident.

Two Tomahawk men were arrested Sunday afternoon after deputies and a Trooper responded to a crash in the Town of Rock Falls. At 3:42 p.m. a report was received that a pickup truck had left the roadway and rolled over on State Rd. 107. The driver was arrested for a felony fifth offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. A passenger in the vehicle fled from the scene. K9 unit Nina located the 58-year-old Tomahawk man in the woods. He was found to be on parole for a felony seventh offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was arrested for violating the terms of his probation by drinking.

The number of deer crashes is back up with 12 being reported. A Tomahawk woman struck a bear on Monday evening in the Town of Bradley on USH 51.
