The Merrill School Forest’s Cordwood Education Center will be a host site for Saturday’s Wisconsin Solar Tour, presented by Midwest Renewable Energy Association. The Cordwood Education Center features solar thermal panels for radiant in floor heat, 75 watt PV panel for the DC pumps, a cell phone tower booster, battery storage and passive solar design.

The event is free and open to the public from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. The Merrill School Forest is located at N4740 Highway 107, Merrill, directly across from New Wood County Park.

Folks can walk the Ice Age Trail, visit the Cordwood Education Center for a guided tour, learn about the solar PV and thermal hot water panel system. Visitors are also free to hike any of the other trails. Maps are available.
