Wednesday afternoon, the Merrill Area Housing Authority (MAHA) organized and hosted their own version of the Fall Ride; with the assistance of the Merrill Police Department and Club X to C Golf Course.
Beginning at 1 PM, MAHA staff and Merrill Police Chief Corey Bennett began began shuttling the first tour of 45 residents from Jenny Towers and Park Place via golf carts-courtesy of Club X to C- to tour and enjoy the multi-colored fall foliage along the River Bend Trail.
In speaking with some of the tourists, excitement and anticipation was soaring as many had yet to see or enjoy the River Bend Trail. Others had participated in a similar event in July, but were eager to hit the trail once again and enjoy the fall colors.

According to MAHA Executive Director Paul Russell, both events came about as ideas for resident activities from MAHA staff.
“Our June event was a big success. Our residents really enjoyed it and our staff really enjoys engaging in activities with our residents, so it really is a win win for everyone.”
Russell stated MAHA will continue to organize various events for residents and will look at continuing trail rides in the future.
