Discover the best chili in town at Chili Blast 2017

Downtown Merrill will present Chili Blast 2017 on Saturday, Sept. 30, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Spice up your day with a walking, chili-tasting tour in downtown Merrill.

More than 10 chili cooks will be featured and the public is invited to vote for their favorites.

In addition to the various varieties of homemade chili, concessions will be provided by The Haunted Sawmill.

Tickets are $5 and are available in advance at the Merrill Chamber of Commerce, or purchase your ticket the day of the event at the registration booth in front of Ace Hardware. Limited tickets are available.

Chili tasters will receive a ballot card with their ticket.

Chili cooks who will be set up in front of downtown businesses Saturday, vying for the title of the best chili in town, include: Dottie Kusserow (at Courtside Furniture), Ed and Sharon’s (at Ye Olde Sweet Shoppe), Kurt Wendt-Merrill Sheet Metal (at Ace Hardware), Lee’s Piggly Wiggly (at The Fresh Boutique), The Painted Door (at The Painted Door), Don Swan (at First Street Coffee Station), Robbie & Trina Johnson (at Johnson’s Gifts), Ed Hoffmaster (at Waves), Vicky Davis (at Checkered Churn), Jody Malsack (at Again and Again), Ryan Schwartzman (at St. Vincent de Paul), Vickie McKay (at NAPA Auto Parts), Masonic Temple (at Masonic Temple) and Corning Vol. Fire Dept. (at Images).
