Now there is another option for library lovers: a once monthly Family Fun Night is being planned. This programming is being offered to give families with working parents an opportunity to attend library programs after the work day. There will be a variety of program offerings including music, magic and a visit from Jenny Thorson with Grampa’s Farm.

“We will stagger the dates of the programming to accommodate different schedules,” said Youth Services Head, Carolyn Forde. “And although we are targeting families with working parents, we invite all families to join in the fun.”

The Family Fun Nights will kick off Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 6 p.m. with award-winning musicians Ken Lonnquist and friend Doug Brown. (For more information visit www.kenland.com.) This is music that the whole family will enjoy. Ken and Doug will be followed by area storyteller Jenny Thorson on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 6 p.m. Jenny will share harvest/fall themed stories and be joined by some special animal friends from Grandpa’s Farm.

November and December Family Fun Nights will take place on Thursday evenings and feature a Pete the Cat themed party for ages 3 and up. Then Magician Magic Morgan and Liliana will round out the series for the fall.

Programming is free and will take place on the second floor of the Library in the Youth Services Department. Pre-registration for these programs is appreciated.
