Early this year three people presented information about man-caused global warming at the T.B. Scott library. At least two of them stated that “superstorm Sandy” was caused by man-caused global warming. Now the news media is reporting numerous claims that Hurricanes Harvey and Irma were caused by man-caused global warming.

If people did due diligence studying issues they would know that the global warming scientists at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have stated that neither Sandy nor Harvey were caused by global warming. According to NOAA, “It is premature to conclude that human activities – and particularly greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming – have already had a detectable impact on Atlantic hurricane or global tropical cyclone activity.” And scientists are reporting that Irma formed over water that was 3.6 degrees F cooler than normal. The global warming scaremongers claim that 2016 was the warmest year on record. So why didn’t a single strong North Atlantic hurricane occur? Hurricane Harvey was the first category three or stronger hurricane to make landfall in the US in 12 years, a record period of time in recorded history — this during a time when man had supposedly caused dangerous global warming. Have you heard any of this from the mainstream news media? No!

Dishonest NBC News very recently reported that three incidents of unusually strong turbulence just occurred on passenger flights and showed one scientist blaming it on global warming. No balance of a scientist contradicting that was presented. The atmosphere hasn’t warmed for 18 years 8 months while the concentration of carbon dioxide kept increasing. Since the very recent period of time when the turbulence occurred had air temperatures no greater than the previous years of this 18 year 8 month period, why wasn’t extreme turbulence happening for all those years?

None of the predictions of increases in events associated with extreme weather are true. The data show that such increases haven’t happened. Hurricane Irma is the seventh strongest North Atlantic hurricane on record to hit the US. Citing a person saying “I’ve never seen anything like this before” is not science. Also, sea levels have been rising since the last ice age and the rate of rise hasn’t increased with increased carbon dioxide. The problem with Miami showing faster sea level rise is because Miami was built on swamp land and is sinking. Didn’t hear that on the news, did you?

Some other facts: Contrary to popular mainstream news media myth, summer sea ice extent in the Arctic is not in a death spiral. August extent has been remarkably stable since 2007. Greenland just had the fifth largest mass gain of ice since 1981. Throughout the past 800,000 years, increases in concentrations of carbon dioxide do correlate with increases in ocean temperatures, but concentrations typically increase a few hundred years after observed warming. Oceans are well-known to lose carbon dioxide into the atmosphere as they warm, much like your warming beer loses its fizz. Any of this on the news? No!

This week I will not be watching or listening to the Green Bay Packer game because of Martellus Bennet’s sudden desire to disrespect the National Anthem and what I feel is the flag also. I encourage any and all of my America Loving friends to do the same.

You ask, why, what will it do? If I do not watch and I am the only one that does not watch it will just be a personal objection to the fact that he disrespected all my relatives’ sacrifices they put forward to this country while serving in WWI, WWII, Korea, Desert Shield, and current military service. If you choose to boycott the watching of the game with me and you ask all of your friends and so on and so on, we would send a definite message to the NFL, Green Bay Packers and to Martellus Bennet.

I am a forgiving person so if I hear in next week’s news that he stood at attention and honored the Flag and the Anthem with the respect it deserves and no other Packer decides to pull the same stupid disrespectful act, then Week 3 I will resume watching or listening to the game. I do not feel the obligation to try to hold every team to this standard, but I feel I need to do my part in holding players or coaches from My Team accountable.

Please join me in boycotting this week’s Green Bay Packer game. If we do not stand against what is wrong and disrespectful, then what shows them that we actually care enough about what is right and good of our past present and future. Thank you for your time.
